Check the numbers
Each figure comes from an official source and shows who was counted, where and when.
Read a number like a referee
Who was counted?A survey of people who chose to answer is not everyone in a sport. Fifty selected players are not every player.
What was measured? An allegation is not a proven finding. A share of abusive posts is not a share of athletes. Reports depend on people feeling able to report.
Can you add them up?No. Each study used its own method, so the numbers can’t be combined into one total or used to rank sports against each other.
